Restaurants I want at Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris has a lot of restaurants. If it didn't, this blog would be very short and very boring. However, I started to think the other day about what restaurants would compliment the current line-up. So here is a short little list with my personal ideas and suggestions of where they could go.

1. A family style restaurant in Frozen Land

For those of you who are new to Disney Dining terminology, a family style restaurant is a hybrid between a buffet restaurant and a table-service restaurant. Your server brings the food to your table and you are entitled to have as many servings as you wish. It's really good because you get the typically higher quality table-service fare with the flexibility to eat as much as you wish. Despite this, Disneyland Paris is yet to have a family-style restaurant and I personally don't understand why.

With the recent announcement of a 2 billion euro expansion including a brand new Frozen Land, I personally think now is the perfect time to introduce an element of family-style dining to Walt Disney Studios park. With the restaurant in Frozen Land, you can have a really exciting menu with Norwegian, Danish and Swedish inspired dishes. You also could have some really exciting specials in the summer with dishes inspired by crayfish parties and Christmas.

In addition, the artist concept provides potential for beautiful lake-side tables to enjoy your meal which could provide some really beautiful Instagram photos. Personally, I would put this proposed restaurant on the plus meal plan because of the nature of the meal.

2. A decent character dining experience on the plus meal plan

For those of you who identify as Disneyland Paris veterans, you may remember that once upon a time Cafe Mickey was on the plus level of the meal plan. Making it an ideal plus for people who wanted to see the Disney characters but didn't want to pay 70+ euros a head for the Disney princess restaurant. However, times have changed, now you're expected to pay 70 euro for a 3 course meal and a drink and it is on the premium level of the meal plan. 😭

All you need to do is slap on the Hulk and boom, character dining. Picture Source: Disneyland Paris

This means that we now have a gap in the market for a brand new character dining experience. I personally would set this up in one of two places. Place number 1 is the ever changing Lucky Nugget Saloon enhancing the current afternoon tea option to include more savoury dishes (once again serving it family style). Place number 2 is an updated marvel restaurant as part of Hotel New York's renovations which makes sense given the previous Marvel signature dining experience. You could even have Mickey and Minnie in a superhero costume. God, I'm good at this imagination lark, maybe I should work for Disney.

3. A European version of Walt Disney World's Woody's Lunchbox.

I have already spoken about how Walt Disney Studios needs some better counter service locations. Restaurant En Coulisse  has currently got my lowest ranking to date and like it or not, we can't all fit in Blockbuster cafe. Therefore we need a strong dose of decent counter service ASAP.

Fortunately, I think we can fix this by calling our American friends for an import. This year, Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida opened their version of Toy Story land and everything about it has received rave reviews. Part of this comes down to Woody's Lunchbox, a brand new counter-service restaurant with some amazing takes on toasties (grilled cheese for the Yankee folk), pop-tarts and fun drink options. Disney Food Blog have always spoken positively about this wonderful place and I personally believe that it would be really beneficial in France.

There are often quite a few trailers around the studios that aren't open that often that could easily be given a lick of paint to fit in the theming and it could be a really good way to help with those infamous crowds that plague Restaurant En Coulisse.

So there you have it. 3 restaurants, I really want to come to Disneyland Paris. Will Disney hear my prayers and make these happen? I don't know, we will have to see. Don't forget in the meantime to like the official Facebook Page, subscribe to the blog and follow the blog on Bloglovin .

Meanwhile as we wait for the future, make a wish and lick your lips.
