The Lucky Nugget Saloon

Fact-File
  • Location: Disneyland Park/ Frontierland
  • Type of restaurant: Currently table service (I'll explain the currently in this review).
  • Cost: 23 euro for an adult combo meal, 13 euro for a children's meal and 8 euro for an afternoon treat.
  • Option to reserve a table: No.
  • Character Dining: Yes (signature experience only),

Menus for anywhere change. This allows a fresh experience for the diners and thus allows more business for the restaurant. However, changing the type of restaurant you are is a completely different beast. During the last 5-10 years, The Lucky Nugget Saloon has been a character dining buffet, a Tex-Mex buffet, a counter service eatery and now a table service restaurant that offers afternoon tea with the Disney characters.

This means that for the first time, I can't truly give you a 100% accurate review when it comes to the food because what I have personally experienced here, isn't recent enough to be justified with these new changes.

There are somethings that somewhat stay when it comes to The Lucky Nugget Saloon. Firstly, The Lucky Nugget Saloon is only one of three places in Disneyland Park where you can eat with Disney characters. Well, technically it's the third place, however it's only accessible to guest who book the signature celebration package. A package that also includes a one-day VIP Fastpass, a Disney Photopass and a gift bag full of magical Disney goodies. This afternoon tea-time takes place between half past 3 and 5 o'clock everyday and includes a variety of sweets, a hot drink (served at the end) and a cold drink.

Despite the constant changes when it comes to food offerings, The Lucky Nugget Saloon still has that same Western charm. Picture Source: Disneyland Paris

I personally also like the atmosphere. If you are lucky, you can see somebody performing on-stage. This can be anything from a man with a piano to a Toy Story puppet show. That's the thing with something that changes as fast as The Lucky Nugget Saloon, you never know quite what is going to happen next.

This constant changing means I can't give The Lucky Nugget Saloon a final score. It's not fair to you guys because whilst my experiences have been incredibly positive (I've always had fantastic characters meals here), this place has changed far too drastically for you to take my word as gospel.
