Cowboy Cookout Barbecue

Fact-file:
  • Location: Frontierland/Disneyland Park
  • Type of restaurant: Counter Service.
  • Cost: 13-16 euro for an adult combo meal, 9 euro for a children's meal and 6 euro for a coffee break.
  • Option to reserve a table: No.
  • Character Dining: No.

There is one counter service in Disneyland Park that is leaps and bounds above the rest. One that has some of the BEST food in the whole park for really good value. This honour belongs to Cowboy Cookout Barbecue.

There are many reasons why I have a soft spot for this place. Firstly, it's atmosphere is one of, if not the best counter service in Disneyland Paris. It's a good old fashioned western barn on the outside and the inside is adorned with wooden chairs and benches.
Cowboy Cookout looks amazing. I challenge anybody who says otherwise. Picture Description: Inside of a wooden barn with benches, tables and chairs. Picture Source: Disneyland Paris

In addition, the restaurant offers a warm log fire in the winter months, perfect for warming up. Not to mention, the smell inside here is AMAZING! If you're lucky, you may also enjoy a complementary dinner show as a western inspired band often play a 15-30 minute performance for your entertainment.

Of course, whilst the atmosphere is it's own talking point, this blog is World Of Food, not world of ambience. Therefore, we need to discuss the more edible sections of this restaurant. Cowboy Cookout Barbecue specialises in good old smoky finger food. Expect the combo meals here to contain things like burgers, 1/2 smoked chicken, ribs and sausages. Sorry veggie/vegans, you can swap the meat combo for a veggie burger.

Now, I can proudly say, I am a meat lover. Whether it's steak, burgers, gammon or bacon, I'll scoff it all. This means that this place is pretty close to being heaven. The 1/2 smoked chicken combo is a family favourite and features the main protein (complete with a smothering of BBQ sauce), the choice of either salad or potato wedges (their wedges are very good here), a choice of cold beverage  and then either Greek yogurt or chocolate brownie for dessert. This particular combo is only 14 euro per person which given the tastiness of the food, is very good value for money. If chicken is not your thing, you can check out the other combo meals here, just remember Disney could change it at any time.

Overall Cowboy Cookout Barbecue is a fantastic counter service restaurant. It's in a good location, has really good food and is a very good value for money. It is currently my favourite place at Disneyland Park and for good reason. However if you are veggie/vegan, you may wish to look for somewhere else.

Final Score: 9/10

Bistrot Chez Remy (aka Chef Remy)

Fact File Location: Walt Disney Studios Type of restaurant: Table Service Cost: 46 euro for 3 courses on the Emile menu with a soft drink. This goes up to 67 euro if you are eating from the Gusteau menu. 19-33 euro for children according to menu selected.  Option to reserve a table: Yes Character dining: No I have previously said that one's dining experience at the studios varies entirely on what you are willing to pay. Whilst I bashed Restaurant en Coulisse as an overcrowded mess, I gave Resturant des Stars a 10/10 and called it my favourite dining location in the park. So the million euro question becomes where does Bistrot Chez Remy lie?  I will start by saying that this place has the best theming in the whole park. Whether it's the newspaper reviews that are in the lobby as you wait for your table or the bottle caps that are wired together to make your seating, this place is full of little Easter-eggs that will delight any fans of the original Pixar ...
