Things that you could do in Disneyland Paris (that you never thought you could)

OK. So we all know that you can get a selfie outside of Sleeping Beauty Castle or ride Big Thunder Mountain but what about those little things that you had 0 idea? Well this is where this little guide comes in.

1. Have a VIP Tour of Disneyland Park.

Do you have a special occasion coming up? Do you have a little bit more money in your bank? Are you are the ultimate Disney fan and really want to make the most of your holiday? If you answered yes, then a VIP tour is for you.

The VIP tour currently costs 274 euros per person (including park tickets and taxes) if you are part of a group of 10 going in low season (you can see what is a low/high season here). This is for 5 hours and includes a personalised visit according to your group's needs, priority access to your favourite rides and attractions and a reserved VIP area for all shows, parades and night-time spectaculars.

You can book this experience via Disney Special Activities  which also offers in room celebrations for rooms at the Disneyland Hotel, Compass Club rooms at Newport Bay and Empire State rooms at Hotel New-York.

Speaking of Disney Special Activities...

2. You can propose to your love one.

Getting married is now a VERY big deal, which is understandable because most people only want to do it once (no offence to any divorcees or my polygamous readers). Disneyland Paris knows this and now offers magical packages to help you tell the love of your life that you like it and want to put a ring on it. Passport has a really good entry talking about their experience which sounds absolutely fantastic.

Now I just need to find myself a husband or wife and then I start planning my proposal...

3. Learn to dance at Disney Village

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, you can visit Billy Bob's Country and Western Saloon and learn how to dance. Depending on the day, you can learn salsa, rock or line-dancing and could potentially have dinner afterwards (since the buffet is on the meal plan). You can find out what time the lessons take place here

4. Ride a pony (tiddlywinks only. Sorry adults).

Yes, you read that correctly. You can ride a pony at Disneyland Paris. In order to do this, you need to head to Hotel Cheyenne. This hotel can be accessed by catching the specialist shuttle next to the train station or walking 20 minutes going via Disney Village.

This activity is seasonal so don't make the trek if you are staying in the middle of January. In addition, there is a small fee so budget 20-30 euro per rider if your tiddlywink really wants to ride a pony.

5. Celebrate Pride

If you identify as LGBTQ+ or are a proud ally, then this event is for you. On the 1st June, Disneyland Paris has an exclusive party from 8pm-2am taking place at Walt Disney Studio to celebrate the start of Pride Month. This party features exclusive parades, quieter wait times for some of the rides, music and more.

Price wise, you can do a whole package at Davy Crockett Ranch for £426 per person for a group of 6. This includes accommodation from the 31st May-3rd June, a full board meal plan at Standard level, park tickets and entry to Magical Pride.

So gather your party people and put down your deposit now.

Cowboy Cookout Barbecue

Fact-file: Location: Frontierland/Disneyland Park Type of restaurant: Counter Service.  Cost: 13-16 euro for an adult combo meal, 9 euro for a children's meal and 6 euro for a coffee break. Option to reserve a table: No. Character Dining: No.  There is one counter service in Disneyland Park that is leaps and bounds above the rest. One that has some of the BEST food in the whole park for really good value. This honour belongs to Cowboy Cookout Barbecue . There are many reasons why I have a soft spot for this place. Firstly, it's atmosphere is one of, if not the best counter service in Disneyland Paris. It's a good old fashioned western barn on the outside and the inside is adorned with wooden chairs and benches. Cowboy Cookout looks amazing. I challenge anybody who says otherwise. Bistrot Chez Remy (aka Chef Remy)

Fact File Location: Walt Disney Studios Type of restaurant: Table Service Cost: 46 euro for 3 courses on the Emile menu with a soft drink. This goes up to 67 euro if you are eating from the Gusteau menu. 19-33 euro for children according to menu selected.  Option to reserve a table: Yes Character dining: No I have previously said that one's dining experience at the studios varies entirely on what you are willing to pay. Whilst I bashed Restaurant en Coulisse as an overcrowded mess, I gave Resturant des Stars a 10/10 and called it my favourite dining location in the park. So the million euro question becomes where does Bistrot Chez Remy lie?  I will start by saying that this place has the best theming in the whole park. Whether it's the newspaper reviews that are in the lobby as you wait for your table or the bottle caps that are wired together to make your seating, this place is full of little Easter-eggs that will delight any fans of the original Pixar ...
