Top 5 Disneyland Paris Hotels

Regardless of Disney park, there will be a variety of themed hotels, each one a different experience and price. So which Disneyland Paris hotel should you spend your hard earned cash on? Well, this is where I come in. Firstly a couple of ground rules:

  • I will be leaving out Hotel New York and Disneyland Hotel. This is because I haven't stayed at either hotel and it would be unfair to judge a hotel that I haven't stayed in.
  • These are the 5 main Disney hotels apart from the two mentioned ONLY. I won't be ranking any of the partner hotels or the new Les Villages Nature Paris.
  • Non of these of these hotels are BAD per say, consider the hotels further down the list to be less good as opposed to awful.
  • Finally, this is my opinion. You are welcome to agree/disagree.
So without further ado...

5. Hotel Santa Fe

Themed around the average Pixar film Cars, Hotel Santa Fe is at the bottom of this list because it does one thing that the other hotels don't. It makes you feel like you're in a value hotel. All of the hotel's facilities are lumped together in one building and don't really feel as immersive compared to the other hotels.

It does have some perks however. Firstly, it is incredibly cheap for Disneyland Paris prices. The quote below is for two adults staying from the 27th-29th March 2019 and includes flights from Birmingham airport, transfers to the hotel, 2 nights in the Santa Fe, park tickets, a standard full board dining plan (which you can read about here) and a Disney Photopass. You can't even stay at the Disneyland Hotel for that price, let alone everything else you get.

You can easily have everything included for less than £500 pp if you play it right.

In addition, the restaurant is a very good hotel buffet and the hotel is only 20 minutes walk (or about 6 minutes on the shuttle) away from the Disney parks.

4. Sequoia Lodge

Poor, poor Sequoia. It is really suffering at the moment and I'll be honest, I don't really understand why Disneyland Paris is letting it suffer. Whether it's their fantastic swimming pool (second to one hotel higher up in this list) being closed until August 2019, or super criminal cheek of charging £90 more than the Newport Bay Club  for the same package despite it's lower rating and being further away from the parks.

Sequoia does have some good things going for it however. Unlike our previous entry, it is a really immersive experience right down to the pine trees on the side of Lake Disney. The Bambi decorations in the hotel rooms are really adorable and the 15 minute walk to the Disney parks is a huge plus. Also it is one of the few hotels with an outdoor pool for the summer and a wonderful log fire for those cold winter months. Hopefully this time next year, it will have the justice it deserves and potentially more up this list.

 3. Hotel Cheyenne

Yee-Haw! It's time for number 3 for my top 5. In case you haven't worked it out from my first sentence, Hotel Cheyenne is a hotel themed on the Far West. Think cowboy boot lamps, cow-skin pillows and horseshoes on the door.

This is a value hotel done correctly (take note Santa Fe). The theming is absolutely fantastic and the hotel offers an illusion of being separate buildings. The Chuck Wagon Cafe has a fantastic array of food for a hotel buffet (think BBQ chicken, ribs, etc.) and the rooms are really well decorated.

Price wise, you are looking at £891 for two people with everything included if you book before next week. A brilliant value for money for what you get included.

Are there any bad things? Not really. It's just a case of these next two hotels offering more. If you are doing a group trip or want to save money, Cheyenne is very good, safe bet to go.

2. Davy Crockett Ranch

Plan to drive to Disneyland, then this hotel is a place that you must consider to say the least. It is the perfect balance between Disney magic and relaxation and is a great place to retreat to after a day at the parks.

So what makes this place fantastic? A lot of things. Firstly, this place has so much to do and you could very easily use your first day to take part in all the activities on offer. These activities include Disney Paris' best swimming complex (complete with a waterslide, hidden grottos and a hot-tub), mini golf which cost 2.5 euro a round and tennis. There is also a tree top adventure course which is Disney's take on Go Ape.

And the winner for the best swimming pool at Disneyland Paris is...

What makes Davy Crockett Ranch stand out is it's adorable lodges set in the forest. Now these cute lodges are not only Instagram worthy but also come equipped with a full kitchen. This means that you can choose between having a meal out or eating in you lodge providing you with the ultimate in flexibility. It also now allows to bring your doggo (yay).

Pricewise, you are looking at £600 with meals if you book before next Wednesday plus ferry/tunnel crossing which is a really good value for money given exactly what you can enjoy both in and out of the parks.

And the winner is...

1. Newport Bay Club

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. That's pretty much all I can say about Newport Bay Club at the moment. It is riding the ultimate wave right now and has 0 intention of stopping. So why is it so special? Firstly, it is the closest hotel on this list with a mere 10 minute walk to the Disney Parks.

Secondly, you have the option to dine in two restaurants. These are the Yacht Club (table service) and Cape Cod (buffet service). Both of these restaurants take the plus dining vouchers. You can expect a full in depth review of Cape Cod's new dishes in the new year as we're going to visit it in 28 days (Yay).

You could say that staying at the Newport Bay Club will help keep you shipshape (I'll see myself out). Picture Source: Disneyland Paris

You also have access to an indoor and outdoor pool, gym, sauna and a steam room so that you can truly wind down after a magical day at Disney. The hotel also offers exclusive meet and greets with the Disney characters (because nobody wants to wait 90 minutes to meet Mickey Mouse) and Steamboat Willie theming in the rooms.

Overall, it's a four star hotel that can often be cheaper than it's lower stared peers and is a hotel that I am looking forward to going back to.

So there you have it. My top 5 Disneyland Paris hotels. Which one is you favourite? Have you stayed at Disney's Hotel New York or been lucky enough to stay at the Disneyland Hotel?
