Plaza Gardens. One of, if not the most, iconic buffet restaurants in Disneyland Paris. Known for it's Victorian flair and variety of buffet options, it has attracted many a diner in between its walls. So why is this? Is it because of what's inside or very good marketing?

I personally feel that it a little bit of both. Let's start with the negatives (although very few) first. If you want a buffet with fantastic theming, this restaurant is not for you. Now, don't get me wrong, this restaurant is very pretty but there are multiple buffets with far better theming, including the iconic Agrabah Cafe in Adventureland.

In addition, booking is essential. This restaurant has a tendency to get very popular, especially during Breakfast Time (because of Disney Characters) and peak lunch/dinner times (for more details of these times, check out tip number 6 on my Top 9 things to know before you go).

Decoration wise, it's pretty but that's it. Picture description: Picture of white tables in a conservatory. Picture Source: Disneyland Paris
However, there is major positive. The food. The restaurant's "international menu" (their words not mine) means that there is something for everybody regardless of palette, age and dietary requirements.

My personal recommendation. Have a couple of plates of their savoury options and then just go nuts in the dessert section. Like seriously, I don't know if it's a French thing but there are multiple buffets that deliver in the dessert department and Plaza Gardens is in this club.

If you're doing eating the desserts at Plaza Garden's, are you even doing the restaurant justice. Picture description: People using black tongs to grab sweets out of a jar. Picture Source: Awaybies

Diners can expect the likes of various tarts, pastries, the most AMAZING sweets (seriously try the red ones if you haven't already, they are the best), the most beautiful creme caramel and of course, a plethora of creme anglais. All of which tastes very good and is worth saving room for (I like to go for a good 3-4 plates of pud, you know to check I've not missed anything).

Of course, that doesn't mean that the savoury dishes are lacklustre. Far from it. Expect the likes of mussels, some fantastic chef stations and a really strong cold buffet.

Overall, if you have a meal plan, this is a great place to spend them. It has some really fantastic options and is in a very good location. That being said, if you want a buffet with stronger theming and Disney magic, you may wish to look elsewhere.

Final Score: 8/10
