9 things I am looking forward to on my next Disneyland Paris Trip.

31 days to go. That's right, I go to Disneyland in 1 month and I  couldn't be any more excited. Why? Well, this year I am lucky to be going during 2 events. Firstly, Disneyland Paris' magical Christmas which is a fantastic event in itself and Mickey's 90th birthday party. This, combined with our plus Disney dining plan, means there's lots to look forward to. So here's the 9 things, I'm the most excited for.

1. Goofy's Incredible Christmas

I love what Disney does at night. This is the same whether it's in Paris or across the Atlantic ocean. I don't know how, but Disney always manage to choreograph a spectacle for the eyes and ears. Until recently, Disneyland Paris have always been kept in Disneyland Park, with poor Walt Disney Studios being the neglected child.

This is no more (praise the lord)! Disney have now worked out how to use the iconic Tower of Terror ride as a basis for a brand new spectacle, combining Disney characters, music, light projections and fireworks. This allows them to tell classic Disney stories and sing iconic Christmas songs in a brand new way and one I am very looking forward to seeing.

I'm a big lover of Walt Disney Studios and it's really good that Disney are starting to show it even more love.

2. Mickey's Philharmagic

There are so many reasons I am looking forward to seeing this in France. Firstly, it's a firm family favourite and one we've done every-time we went to Florida. The films in the American version are some of the best Disney classics and it's not uncommon to have the audience humming along. Also there's some fantastic little Easter Eggs in the queue line.

Secondly, it's about time that we had a permanent replacement for Honey I Shrunk the Audience. The attraction, whilst slightly outdated, was a classic and unfortunately not one truly topped. I believe this attraction, if done correctly, could fill that void in Discoveryland and make the area even more attractive than it already is.

Finally, I want to see what changes Disneyland Paris make apart from the obvious translation. We've had multiple Disney films released since the first Philarmagic opened, each with very iconic songs (Let it Go, How Far I'll Go, When can I see you again, Immortals, etc.) and I would love to see these films potentially added to the line up. Also with Mickey's Birthday, I would love to see a potentially updated story that reflects on the iconic event.

3. Eating at Chef Remy

Of course, whilst new attractions and Christmas things are really nice, this is a food blog. Therefore if I didn't at least mention food, there would be a grave concern.

Chef Remy is located in Walt Disney Studios next to the Ratatouille ride and if the food is anything like the ride, I know we're in for a good time. Expect a review for this place before the new year.

4. Mickey's Christmas Big Band

I think there is something on the Animagique stage. Firstly the iconic show of the same new that combined music, puppetry and UV lights to make an experience like nothing other. Then there was Mickey and Magician which took it's predecessors magic and swapped the UV lights with West End inspired musical numbers.

Now, it's time for Mickey's Christmas Big Band to step up to the plate of the shows that came before it. I'll be honest, with it's previous pedigree, I am expecting big things from this show and really hope that I'm not disappointed in December.

5. The roller coasters.

Now any Disney park fan will tell you that whilst there are some rides that are iconic at every park (Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, etc.), there are some rides at Disneyland Paris that you won't find anywhere else. These tend to be mainly the roller coasters (Paris' Space Mountain inverts whereas it's counterparts don't), Alice's Curious Labyrinth and Ratatouille.

Now I like me some Disney roller coasters, they often top my favourite ride list for whichever park I am talking about. France's roller-coasters are some pretty good beasts in themselves. It's best exclusive has to be Crush's Coaster in Walt Disney Studios, a ride that combines thrills with some fantastic theming.

6. Checking out the Newport Bay Club, post renovation.

It's been a good 10 years since my family and I last stayed at Newport Bay Club. A lot has changed since then. I now have GCSEs, A-Levels, an Undergraduate degree and a Postgraduate Certificate. The hotel has also changed, undergoing a huge renovation and gaining an additional star in the process.

I've heard some really good things about the rooms post renovation and I cannot wait to see the options at Cape Cod. Once, again expect a full review when I come back armed with some updated information.

7. The parades

Yes, I said parades, as in plural. During Disneyland Paris' Christmas season, Disneyland Park offers not one but two different but equally magical parades. Firstly you have your traditional afternoon parade which looks a little bit like this...

Secondly, you have your Disneyland Paris Christmas parade which swaps the fire breathing dragons for toys, festive cookies and Disney characters in their finest festive gear. What used to be one float tacked on the end of the main parade has now manifested itself into a whole parade which is a must see during the festive season.

8. Seeing all of the Christmas Magic in the Disney shops.

The ultimate Christmas shop. Picture Source: Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris has lots of shops. These shows REALLY take advantage of Christmas and have some really fantastic decorations and store displays. From the unique stories told in the shop windows to the iconic Chr
istmas shop in Sleeping Beauty castle, Disney really pull out all the stops to make you that you part with your euros.

9. Seeing what the buffets do for the Christmas season

We have already heard from Pixie Dust's Disneyland Paris news report about some of Disneyland Paris' counter-service Christmas menu items. May I say now, these items look really GOOD, like look at how adorable these desserts are.

Now, whilst we won't be going to any counter-service restaurants this trip, I am looking forward to seeing if these exclusive Christmas items are also a thing in the table and buffet service restaurants.

So there you have it. My top 9 things I'm most looking forward to this Disney trip. Are you going to Disneyland Paris soon? What are you most looking forward to on your trip?  Feel free to comment below and suggest to me a place you'd like me to review.

Don't forget the like the official Facebook page, the only place where you can find out what counter-service restaurant is next under my little microscope. If you want to know exactly when my next entry is coming out, click on the subscribe button or follow me on Bloglovin.

Until the next entry folks remember to make a wish and lick your lips.
